weights will give you strength and definition faster, but you’ve gotta get yourself to the gym!

  1. Bodyweight exercises are self limiting, because all you have to work with is your bodyweight. You can make them more difficult with some variations, like elevated pushups, or single leg squats. Nothing will help you put on muscle faster than iron though. Stick to compound movements, ones that work more than one muscle group, like the squat, deadlift and bench, Olympic lifts are for power and explosiveness ( note these take time and practice,because they are more about technique than brute strength, and can be dangerous if the technique isn’t mastered). Compound moves will help you put on total body muscle fast, and the more muscle you have the more calories your body will need to maintain that muscle, burning fat even when you’re not working out. Stick to lower reps between 4-6 since you want total body strength rather than mass like a bodybuilder.
